Construction of a Squash Court
Squash is a dynamic sport that demands speed, agility, and strategy. It appeals to a wide range of players at both professional and amateur levels, making squash courts a significant investment in sports facilities. Therefore, well-planned and high-quality squash courts are of paramount importance.
Bring Your Squash Court Investment to Life Professionally
Squash is a fast-growing, high-intensity, and prestigious sport worldwide. For sports facilities, hotels, residential complexes, and private clubs, squash courts are no longer just a sports feature—they are a strong competitive advantage and a valuable investment.
However, a successful squash facility investment is not just about building a space. A poorly planned court:
-
Reduces player experience
-
Shortens the lifespan of the facility
-
Negatively impacts return on investment
This is exactly where B&C SPORT steps in.

Construction of a Squash Court Construction Stages
- 1. Stage
🏗️ 1. Court Geometry and Tolerances
📐 Nominal Dimensions
Length: 9.75 m
Width: 6.40 m
Height: ≥ 5.64 m
📏 Critical Tolerances
Wall flatness: ±2 mm / 2 m straightedge
Corner verticality: ±1 mm / m
Floor level deviation: ±3 mm (across entire court)
Front wall deviation: max. ±1.5 mm
👉 These tolerances directly affect ball rebound angles; even minor deviations can disrupt gameplay.
- 2. Stage
🧱 2. Wall Systems
🔹 Front Wall
Material:
High-density concrete + specialized squash plaster
or prefabricated engineered panel systems
Surface:
Smoothness: Ra ≤ 1.6 µm
Hardness: high impact resistance (≥ 5 kN/m²)
🔹 Side Walls
Must maintain the same level of flatness
Alternative: tempered glass (especially for show courts)
🔹 Back Wall
Material:
Tempered glass (10–12 mm)
Compliant with EN 12150
Impact resistance:
Withstands ball speeds of ≥ 100 km/h
- 3. Stage
3. Flooring System
🔹 Layer Structure
Concrete subfloor (C25/30 or higher)
Elastic pad system (shock absorbing)
Solid hardwood flooring (typically maple)
🔹 Performance Parameters
Friction coefficient: 0.4 – 0.6
Shock absorption: 25% – 35%
Ball rebound loss: ≤ 10%
🔹 Moisture Control
Wood moisture content: 8% – 10%
Ambient humidity: 40% – 60%
- 4. Stage
4. Lighting System
🔹 Technical Requirements
Lighting level:
Training: ≥ 300 lux
Professional: ≥ 500–750 lux
Uniformity (Emin/Eavg): ≥ 0.7
Color temperature: 4000K – 5000K
CRI: ≥ 80
🔹 Installation
Recessed linear LED fixtures
Glare control (UGR < 19) required
Tennis Courts
