Maximum Performance with FIFA Fields
FIFA Certified Professional Field
The FIFA Quality Concept was created to standardize the quality and safety of artificial turf to be used in football competitions. This concept also includes studies on the development of artificial grass technologies. Since artificial turf produced and installed for football fields will go through different stages in many regions of the world, differences in the performance of the product may occur. In order to prevent this and ensure that each field has a certain standard, FIFA prepares certain criteria and recommends compliance with them. As B&c Skandianvia Sports, we comply with all "FIFA Quality Concept" criteria during the artificial turf production and installation stages.

Since artificial turf produced and installed for football fields will go through different stages in many regions of the world, differences in product performance may occur. FIFA, in order to prevent this and to ensure that each field has a certain standard, has prepared certain criteria and recommends compliance with them. As Reform Sports, we comply with all of the «FIFA Quality Concept» criteria in the production and installation stages of artificial turf.
FIFA Quality Concept is a set of criteria that has been in practice since 2001 and aims to increase the quality of grass pitches. With this concept, football pitch owners can document that their pitches are suitable for playing football with the «FIFA QUALITY» and «FIFA QUALITY PRO» certificates. These certificates, which were called «FIFA RECOMMENDED 1 STAR» and «FIFA RECOMMENDED 2 STAR» in 2004, were updated and developed as «FIFA QUALITY» and «FIFA QUALITY PRO» in 2017. In addition, thanks to these criteria, pitches with the quality that football players need are created and their performance and health are positively affected.
According to the FIFA Quality Concept, in order for fields to receive a certificate of suitability for playing football, they must pass certain tests. Companies that produce synthetic turf send their products to FIFA in accordance with the criteria determined by FIFA. These artificial turfs are then tested in FIFA laboratories to check the suitability of the product. During the testing phase, the interaction of the ball and the ground, the interaction of the ground with the game, and the quality of the product are comprehensively checked. In addition, the product is also installed on the field and its performance on the field is measured in detail. If the product can pass these test stages, it is entitled to receive the FIFA Quality certificate.

Maximum Performance with FIFA Fields Construction Stages
- 1. Stage
The FIFA Quality Concept for football turf was created to standardize the quality and safety of artificial turf that football players will benefit from and to encourage developments in artificial turf technology.
Projects proposed by FIFA Development programmes, such as the GOAL Programme, aim to support the development of football and football ideas around the world through specifically designated training, financial support and infrastructure programmes. FIFA's 205 member organizations will be able to benefit from this.
Football pitches have been an important component of FIFA development programmes. FIFA associations and confederations can ensure that only surfaces conducive to top-level football comply with the FIFA RECOMMENDED certification.
- 2. Stage
FIFA Certified Professional Field Construction:
Since the implementation of the FIFA Quality Standard for football turfs began in 2001, many important teams around the world have applied these turfs to their fields and discovered the advantages of FIFA RECOMMENDED certified training pitches. Teams from lower divisions and amateur leagues have already adopted grass pitches for demanding football matches.
Positive feedback from the players is causing more and more football clubs to apply these grass fields to their stadiums and football federations, allowing competitions to be held in these fields.
The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has already investigated the advantages of artificial pitch technologies and introduced artificial turf into the Laws of the Game in July 2004.
Following the IFAB's mandate to FIFA to establish universal guidelines for football pitches, a FIFA Quality Standard was developed called the «FIFA RECOMMENDED 2 STARS» star rating system.
A second, more stringent standard was developed, implemented in 2001, based on players' feedback, medical research, test results and information, adding to the existing level.
The aim was to create this high-level FIFA standard, further improving playability and safety.
This new assessment will pave the way for the industry to produce football turf closer to perfect natural grass pitches, offering the football world the best turf for a professional game.
The FIFA Quality Standard for football turf reflects the quality level of the product on the market with the quality levels «FIFA 1 STAR RECOMMENDED» and «FIFA 2 STAR RECOMMENDED».
- 3. Stage
The FIFA RECOMMENDED mark is given only to football turf fields that pass certain laboratory and field tests.
Natural grasses in ideal condition are the evaluation tool for FIFA testing criteria. Because in this way, they can provide the highest playing comfort and constantly improve the quality of football grass fields.
Therefore, all turf products must first undergo laboratory tests to determine their ingredients and then be tested through processes such as durability, durability, climate resistance, player-ground interaction and ball-ground interaction.
Additionally, when players slide on the ground, the impact of the ground on player skin will be tested to determine FIFA recommended levels for friction and abrasion.
If all these tests are passed, the first step required to obtain the certificate has been completed.
In the second stage, the applied grass must be tested in the field. First of all, special field testing equipment tests how the ball rolls on the field, how it behaves when it hits the ground at a certain angle, and how it bounces when left upright.
Then, in a similar way, how the ball reacts to the players' movements is tested. Shock absorption, floor imperfection, slip resistance and friction are among these tests.
If the grass fields pass all laboratory and field tests, they will be entitled to receive one of the FIFA RECOMMENDED certificates, which are divided into two classes. Certificates will be issued only for applied areas, not for carpet. Because the ground is as important as the grass in terms of playability on the field.

The testing requirements of this standard are designed to identify products that meet essential performance, accuracy, safety and durability criteria for football. The focus is on setting minimum standards while ensuring affordability for use at all levels of the game.
FIFA QUALITY*
The testing requirements emphasize the durability and safety of these products, playing surfaces and technologies more than the FIFA Core standard. Basic performance and accuracy criteria are tested, but the main focus is on providing comprehensive usability.
QUALITY PRO*
The emphasis of the testing requirements is on top-notch performance, accuracy and security. Products, playing surfaces and technologies with this quality mark are designed for optimum performance and use at the highest level.
