HOW TO REMOVE SNOW FROM ARTIFICIAL GRASS

The best part about Artificial turf grass is that you don’t need to always maintain it and take care of it, but sometimes artificial turf maintenance is necessary. Synthetic grass could stay in a good shape up to 8 to 10 years with a minimum on maintenance.

However, in winter, the artificial turfgrass needs a little bit more attention than in summer because of the intensive rain and snow, that is why it is necessary to take good care of it to avoid serious damage that would need professional interventions.

Basic maintenance can certainly be managed from time to time throughout the winter – that would include a thorough cleaning, removal of debris, and cleaning up residual stains.

First thing to do is to always make sure that the drainage holes have no debris and that the water can easily go through.

HOW TO REMOVE THE SNOW FROM ARTIFICIAL turf GRASS

Winter always comes with a lot of rain and snow for a long period, it’s usually not problem to keep the snow and leave until it melts and goes through the  drainage system, but if you have to remove the snow immediately, the best machine to use is a snowblower, it will keep your artificial turf safe.

Also, the wind and storms in the winter brings all kinds of dirt and debris that you don’t want on your artificial grass, then you can use your usual maintenance tools and techniques, but sometimes these debris get stuck, then you might consider reaching a professional maintenance team in your region, to avoid any tear on the grass.

ROBLEMS YOU CAN FACE ON YOUR ARTIFICIAL GRASS ON WINTER:

Not all types of artificial grass are the best quality, and in intensive heavy snow the grass might even get frozen, in this case the best thing to do is to wait for the snow and ice to melt away, to avoid any damage in the fibers of the turf. However, winter frost shouldn’t affect a good quality artificial turf grass.

When you finish cleaning the snow from the grass, make sure to take a look all around the artificial grass field to look for spots with low Sbr and Silica sand infill, and fill them again then spread with a brush.

At the end there will always be a little snow left, but it will melt and go into the drainage system.
